COSPLAY EVENT IN TAIPING FTW!!

omg still in disbelief that all of that happened kyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Okay, the introducktion:

Our school is celebrating it's golden jubilee in the form of canteen day, co-curriculum day and exhibition all at once, this morning. A member of the art club came to me last month, asking if we can hold a cosplay contest during this particular day. He suggested that our club members and committee cosplay during the exhibition. Despite the early objections from the president and the vice presiden(because of the cost and all) accompanied by some uninterested members, the event made its way to succession, opened to students of the school. xD

Why is this special news?

Because here, any special oh-so-interesting event for youngsters. is. just. RARE. to the point you have to hunt history books

Arriving early in the morning, the cosplayers took their gear and tools to the art room for preparations. As soon as you step in the room, you can smell hairspray and then see colors of wigs. Then you will faint.

From the sheer excitement.

Okay, it might not be as severe for most people but its my virgin experience of any ACG-related event, held by the one and only club that I hold so dear, and quite a few of my beloved friends are cosplaying pretty!! Even thinking about it makes me feel like fly~ing~ !!!

My lovely friends are:
a Miku, (vocaloid)
a Tenma, (school rumble)
a fail version Jigoku Shoujo(very sorry but you really gave me quite a shock =,=;),
a Misa, ( so preetyyy~~)
an ultra-moe maid, (kyaaaaaaaa)
from Vampire Knight(sorry forgot its name orz),
and even crossplayed miko Reimu-samaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Among the 18 contestants, of course. The others include
an L (omfreaks is he real????)
an Akatsuki member ...Konan?(with pretty blue hair yay~)
a catgirl (ooh paws)
a pumpkin witch (i've seen this character lots but still don't know which anime its from, any hints?)
an Ichigo
an Ueki
a Toshiro
a crossplayed... Sebastian??
and a few other maids~

There was even two other cute little cosplayers, who actually look magnificent, even much better than all us seniors!!!! they have long and silky perfect wigs omg, one was a blonde haired maid and the other ----OH MAMA ITS SUIGINTOUUUUUUU!!!!!  they didn't register as contestants though, but if they did, there'll be no chance for others xDD

The preparation phase:

Stepping into the room, you just can't help but to notice the lolita sporting long aqua blue ponytails sitting quietly by the wall. Not all the contestants have arrived yet, but there are already quite a number. Bringing the miko-stick that a friend requested me to make, flailing it in the air and sitting around dumb while everyone else is busy running about for preparations~ the scene was interesting lol

Just when I settled down the items i brought, a familiar irritating voice passed by, and to my horror-- it was a.... let's just say it was a person i had to deal with every school day. With a cosplay level that is not very pleasing to the eye. To put it short it was horrifying lol (no offence, just stating my first reaction)

Before the start of the event, there are already a few cosplayers creeping around outside the classroom (specifically the L guy, basically he was the only one staying in-character the whole day, hence the creeping xD his back must be hurting lol )

The exhibition:

"Everyone please move outside! Outside! Outside!" the hollering horror goes~ then out we go whisking ourselves away to the art club exhibition stall~ followed by a platoon of fans who were waiting outside the art room~

Then the show begins.

They arrived at the open hall, lined up at the steps which exist behind the art club table, i followed them to the spot but there is already a crowd in front orz

it attracted almost everyone present,all the bored people, even from food selling stalls, to stand and take a gazillion pictures.  It was such an amazing atmosphere, people squeeeing from the pretty cosplayers, and their act, it was just <3

_{as one of the helpers of the event, after running around i took a while to pant, then proceeded to start handing out voting papers to all the onlookers~ usually i couldn't talk to strangers but somehow it just went natural, explaining the use of the piece of paper and where the voting box is, etc etc, and repeating it a gazillion times....}

a few minutes passed and with the help of other helpers the voting pieces spread like wildfire~ everyone either voted or checking out who to vote~ then people start pouring over the art club's table, searching for stationery to write with (my unfortunate all-purpose pencil case and drawing case were still on the table T.T ), and of course, voting.

then there proceeded to more showcase, posing, cameras, flashes photos taken together, for the next hour xDD

afterwards was the dancing round~ it was...okay i guess heheh the 1st performance was good (not fantastic though)consisting of Ichigo, Ueki, Sebastian and Konan, and Toshiro. well, the second was a bit redundant, consisting of Tenma, the cat girl, one that i can't remember, and the horror (lol sorry, i can't stand it).

from this part on the emceeing was a mess.

after that there's the last showcase, which was a mess.

then there was the prize-giving ceremony, it was too messy that i couldn't give a firetruck.

anyways.

The first place for the contest~! Goes to~! *insert drumrolls and peanuts*

...L!!

(I mean, he was in character the whole day and everyone loves him, so it was no surprise, just pure excitement for everyone xD)

and it ends~ the crowd goes home~ finally the tables of other clubs and societies come into clear view (no offence)
The PA system booms some music while the cosplayers go back to the art room, and we helpers stay at the open hall to clean up... suddenly the current song ended ... and continued with BIGBANG!!!! YAAAAAAYYY!!! They certainly made the cleaning process FANTASTIC BABY! WHOO!! (and cookies for all who see us art club helpers clean to the beat lol)

The happiness ended abruptly though, and some bad news came along, but I'll set it aside since it offended some and made alot of people worry. Bad news is bad.

Anyways. We decided that its worth it that the whole event got excellent response from the public!! (or at least my school). No worries!! Just excitement and satisfaction!!
